The Lewistown Public Library provides quality materials and services, fulfilling the educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of the entire community. The atmosphere is welcoming, respectful and businesslike in facilitating the freedom of expression – the inalienable human right and the foundation for self-government.
The Lewistown Public Library serves both City of Lewistown and Fergus County residents. The Library provides free access to a variety of computer programs and Internet via 8 public computers and also provides reference and reader advisory services for all patrons. The Library also cooperates with other community agencies, organizations, and community services to provide information and promote education.
The Library sponsors and implements programs, such as weekly story time for preschool children; services to rural, public and home school students; and a 9-week summer reading program for adults and children. The Library also sponsors guest speakers, a monthly book discussion group, computer usage classes and weekly visits to local nursing home residents through the senior outreach program.
